Proceso de Revisión de Pares

Description Peer Evaluation Process

The articles are evaluated based on the double blind peer system, and consider the following stages and processes:

Stage 1: Review and evaluation Editorial Committee: The manuscript is evaluated in the first instance by the Editorial Committee, in order to establish thematic membership, editorial line and adherence to the publication rules (maximum period of 10 days). In case of rejection of the submission, the author will be notified within a period not exceeding one week.

Stage 2: External evaluation and editorial decision: Each article will be evaluated by two experts through the double blind system, that is, one in which the names of the authors and the evaluators are kept confidential during the process. Once the two evaluations have been received (process that is carried out through the OJS platform), if deemed appropriate, the Editor may request a third blind evaluation before the final decision.

Based on the above and a critical reading of the Editorial Committee, the authors of the decision will be notified, based on the following options:

-Accepted without modifications: The manuscript is approved for publication, so the editing process begins.

-Accepted with modifications: It is necessary that the authors correct the observations and / or suggestions indicated, giving a detailed account of the changes made. To carry out this action, a maximum period of three weeks is established. Once the final version of the manuscript is received, the final decision of acceptance or rejection will be notified.

 -Rejected: Not publishable.

The General Editor will be responsible for deciding on the publication or rejection of manuscripts.

The deadline established for notifying the final decision, once the final version of the manuscript has been received, will be three weeks.

Stage 3: Publication: This process begins with the correction of originals and layout of the manuscript. Next, the trial or print version is generated, a document that is sent to the authors for the revision of typographical or edition errors only, and no content modifications can be made. The term granted to the authors will be 72 hours.

Each evaluator has a maximum of 60 days to carry out the evaluation process. Both for original research articles and essays, the maximum term of the evaluation process, normally considers 5 months from the moment of the presentation of the collaboration on the OJS platform.

The reviews are not submitted to the double blind evaluation system, being evaluated by the Editorial Committee of Sophia Austral.
